72 new cases confirmed in Taiwan

A total of 72 new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Taiwan, including 40 local cases and 32 imported cases, the region’s epidemic Command Center said on Monday.Taiwan media reported that among the new local cases, 25 employees of Yaxu Computer Factory were confirmed after the quarantine period.A total of 151 people have been confirmed with the cluster infection, including 148 employees and 3 close contacts.In addition, nine new local cases were reported in Kaohsiung Port, four in Taoyuan, one in Qiandu, and one in Nobel Kindergarten in Daliao, Kaohsiung.Chen Shizhong, commander of the command center, said there were suspected clusters of infection in three quarantine hotels in Kaohsiung, and all personnel have been moved to a centralized quarantine center.Ninety-nine of the 198 people who stayed at the hotel since Jan. 19 have been summoned for inspection.Those on the same floor as the confirmed patient will be quarantined at home for 14 days, and those on different floors will be quarantined at home for seven days.Source: Chinanews.com
